According to the regional website 61 Saat, Newcastle United remain interested in Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
In recent weeks the Premier League side have been linked with the youngster, along with Liverpool.
The 23 year old has made an excellent start to the season with Trabzonspor and his performances have reportedly impressed other clubs around Europe.
61 Saat also report journalists from the English media are looking to interview the Turkey international but the Trabzonspor board don’t want this as they are afraid it may affect his focus.
Cakir’s distribution and his passing have improved massively since the start of the season and he’s now regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Turkish Super Lig.
He recently signed a new deal with Trabzonspor and he’s now under contract with his boyhood club until June 2024.
