Newcastle United had a wobble at the weekend with a 2-0 loss to Walter Zenga’s Wolves.
The loss was contributed to by Vurnon Anita’s red card, with Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez saying they would appeal the card and three match ban.
Anita may be feeling a little sorry for himself, but he’s just received a boost from Netherlands manager Daley Blind. Having not been involved in the last Dutch squad, Anita could well have thought he’d not be included again, but he’s got into the preliminary selection.
The Netherlands are to face Belarus and France in crucial World Cup Qualifiers in October, and they really need to turn things around after the last international break saw a loss to Greece and a draw with Sweden.
