Last week, Soccer Link in France claimed Sabri Lamouchi, the newly appointed manager at Nottingham Forest, was keen on Caen’s Brice Samba.

The former Marseille goalkeeper was one of the few shining lights in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the relegated club, who will now be spending the 2019-20 campaign in Ligue 2.

We did question Forest’s need for a new shot stopper in our article seeing as they already having four on their books, but now another source in France is claiming the interest.

Mohamed Toubache-Ter is reporting Samba will not play in Monday night’s game between Caen and Lorient as he’s expected to take a flight to England in order to sign for the Championship club.

It seems Lamouchi feels he needs to improve the goalkeeping position at City Ground ahead of a tough season, and sees in the 25-year-old the ideal man to stand between the sticks.

Soccer Link did claim the former Rennes manager appreciated Samba’s ‘explosiveness’ off the line, among other traits.

With just a few days left in the window, things appear to be speeding up.
