Claudio Bravo has been speaking to Spanish radio about his reasons for leaving Barcelona and ending up at Manchester City during the summer.
Giving the German goalkeeper more games would of course mean less for Bravo and he simply wasn’t prepared to be a substitute.
Mundo Deportivo have written up part of the radio interview, and quote Bravo as saying: “I did not want to be sitting on the bench. It is not me. And he understood… I was very sincere. I did not want to be sitting on the bench.
Bravo said he was offered a new contract by Barcelona, but still pushed through his Manchester City transfer: “In Barcelona I always devoted myself to do my best. I always felt the support. Barca offered me renewal and I appreciate it , but seeing the project, I had to defend my position.”
Pep Guardiola was thrilled to get Bravo at Manchester City, and after a shaky start against Manchester United, the goalkeeper is starting to look more settled.
