Felipe Mattioni is seeing his contract run out at Everton. The Brazilian right-back was brought to the club by Roberto Martinez, and after the manager got sacked the player doesn’t know if he is staying at the club or not.
In an interview with Planeta Bola, Mattioni explained his situation: “I’ve signed a one-year contract. The Everton manager knew me, wanted to count on me. But at the end of the season he was sacked.
“He had a project, he wanted to use me next year. But now I don’t know how it’s gonna be. They’ve announced a new manager this week and I still don’t know anything regarding the future.”
“It was very good for me, I liked it. I had a good sequence. Technically the league is not so good, but it’s physically very strong, it helped me to get rhythm and to know the characteristics of the English football”.
The 27-year-old had a minor injury, and due to Everton’s struggles in the league, he couldn’t get any chances at the end of the season. It doesn’t sound sound like Everton have made Mattioni clear on his future, but he probably needs to find a new club quickly.
“I’m free at the moment. I still haven’t talked to any club. The agents tell me about the situation. I’m open to hear offers from clubs, I really want to play.”
The player works with the super agent Mino Raiola, who will almost certainly find him a good club next season. Chill out, Felipe.
