On Monday we covered a small article from Spanish newspaper AS, which said more than 8000 Celtic fans were expected in Barcelona, ahead of the Champions League group game.
Mundo Deportivo say on Tuesday afternoon that only 2000 Celtic fans are expected to attend the game at the Camp Nou later today, and that all is quiet in the city centre.
Whereas it had been expected that Celtic fans would be sat outside bars and singing songs, Mundo Deportivo says it’s a much calmer situation, with fans checking out tourist sights ‘without the noise that often accompanies them’.
It’s said to be ‘peaceful’ in Barcelona, and Mundo Deportivo think the reduced numbers are because it’s the first game of the group, and Celtic fans aren’t too hopeful for their team.
Maybe there’s several flights this afternoon, and Mundo Deportivo may be left shocked by a sea of green and white.
