Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in Steven Bergwijn.
The PSV attacker has been impressing scouts this season, report De Telegraaf in their Monday edition, and has ‘charmed’ sides including the Reds.
In the Eredivisie so far this season he’s scored eleven goals and added a further twelve assists, and he’s played equally on the left and right side for PSV, with a handful of appearances through the middle.
In that respect he could be a good deputy for Liverpool’s front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. At just 21 years of age, the player may be willing for a back-up role and any interest from Anfield would surely be reliant on that.
De Telegraaf suggest he could break PSV’s transfer record, currently held by Memphis Depay’s move to Manchester United.
That would mean a transfer at more than £30m, and Liverpool could be tempted given the player’s age and relatively good cost.
Such a transfer fee would be a ‘mega amount’ for PSV, say the Dutch newspaper.
