The problem is, Onana would be a backup in both scenarios, whereas a stay at Ajax would guarantee him Champions League football and first-team football.
Furthermore, any transfer for Arsenal and Tottenham would be an expensive one, as the Eredivisie side aren’t particularly open to a transfer, wanting a minimum of €30m for their key man.
That’s a lot for a backup, even if he could end up being a long-term investment by Spurs.
There might be interest, but we find it hard to believe either side will be willing to spend that much in the summer.
