Nobody would argue against the stance that Joselu’s first season with Stoke City was a disappointment to everyone involved.
The player himself is now much happier with his situation. Signing for Deportivo La Coruna on loan, Joselu is going home.
He may have been born in Stuttgart, Germany, but his family moved back to Spain and settled in Galicia, so Depor is the ideal club for the player.
Regional newspaper La Voz de Galicia are very happy too and they quote the player’s stepfather, Ramon Barcala, as saying: “He’s thrilled, he called us after it all materialised, and it was a great joy.
“He called his mum and said, ‘Mum, I just signed and it’s there’.
“He had three major deals but in the end he comes to home.”
If the obvious happiness from Joselu and his family can turn into goals, then Stoke City may be able to get a decent transfer fee next summer.
