Leeds United forward Caleb Ekuban has told the Turkish media he would be happy to continue at Trabzonspor and is open to discussing a permanent transfer to the Super Lig club at the end of the season

The 24 year old is currently on loan with the Turkish club and several times it’s been claimed they want to make his move permanent.

Speaking to Fotomac, the Leeds United loanee discussed his future in Turkey: “I would love to continue with the club. I see my performance at 60% at the moment, because I’m slowly getting used to it.

“I’d be very happy if Trabzonspor want to hold discussions with me at the end of the season, because I am very happy in Trabzon and it feels so good to be in this team. To emphasise my priority is always to work hard and do my job properly.”

Last week we covered reports from the Turkish media that Trabzonspor will look to activate their right of redemption for Ekuban after he impressed in recent months. Following a slow start, the Leeds United man has become a key player for the Trabzon side and he’s scored some vital goals.

As previously reported, Trabzonspor can purchase the player outright for a fee in the region of €1m.

Ekuban joined Leeds United in 2017 but failed to make an impact in his debut season at Elland Road. The 24 year is contracted to the Championship side until June 2021.
