According to a claim in the Turkish media, Trabzonspor are ready to sign Leeds United forward Caleb Ekuban on a permanent deal.

The Ghanaian is currently on loan with the Super Lig club and in recent months the player has been in impressive form.

Fotomac have reported on the latest developments with regards to the future of the Leeds United loanee and they say Trabzonspor will activate their right of redemption for the attacker ‘before the end of the season’.

It’s stated the Turkish side will have to pay Leeds United €1m to sign Ekuban outright, which is the rough figure which has been continually reported.

Former Trabzonspor forward Necmi Perekli has also backed the deal after being impressed with the Leeds United player’s contribution this season. Perekli is a legend at the club for being his club’s first player to top the Turkish scoring charts, in the 76/77 season, and he believes it would be a good investment to bring in a player like Ekuban given the transfer fee.

Ekuban joined Leeds United in 2017 but failed to make an impact in his debut season at Elland Road. The 24 year is contracted to the Championship side until June 2021.
