Adam Lallana will not leave Liverpool and complete a switch to Fenerbahce, sources have told Sport Witness.
Turkish newspaper Gunes reported that Ersun Yanal’s side are interested in the 30-year-old and their sporting director Damien Comolli has flown to England to conclude the deal.
Comolli has previously worked at Anfield and was hoping to use his ties with the Merseyside club to seal the deal for the England international.
It was also mentioned the Frenchman made progress in his efforts in bringing the former Southampton star to Istanbul, but Sport Witness have been told the Reds player will not swap the Premier League outfit for the Turkish side.
Lallana, who has a contract with the English club until 2020, has made only two starts for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the league this term and this was partly due to an injury he picked up in September.
Even after regaining full fitness, Lallana has struggled for minutes and there are reports linking him with a move away from Liverpool in January.
However, he’s likelier to continue with his current employer beyond the mid-season transfer window.
