“I said that from the first day” – Player makes it clear he’s looking to leave Everton for good

Everton loanee Kevin Mirallas doesn’t seem very keen on returning to the Premier League.

Currently having a spell at Italian side Fiorentina until the end of the season, the attacker claims to be pretty happy in his first months in Serie A.

The 31-year-old, who’s currently La Viola’s captain, has talked about this new role in an interview with Sky Italia this week.

“I like being a captain, talking with my teammates and helping them in case of need,” Mirallas told Sky (via Tutto Mercato Web).

The player was also asked about his future, and was pretty clear about his wish to continue at La Viola: “I said that from the first day, I hope to stay in Florence and I hope Fiorentina are happy with me.”

Mirallas has two goals in his 11 appearances for Fiorentina so far. The player joined Everton on a €7.65m deal from Olympiacos in 2012, and had a record of 38 goals and 34 assists in 186 appearances for the Toffees.

He was sent back to Olympiacos on a loan deal in January this year, and now moved to Fiorentina, making it unlikely that he will every feature for the Premier League side again.

The Tuscany side can make the move permanent next summer, and Mirallas is clearly looking for a full Everton exit.
