It seems like Thursday has been the day where some of the silly rumours started doing the rounds, as it feels like we’ve been mopping up behind a few outlets trying to clarify situations.

Tuttosport give us another chance to do that, this time involving Stoke’s Giannelli Imbula, currently on loan at Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

The midfielder, who appears to have no future at bet365 Stadium, couldn’t find a permanent way out in the summer, meaning a temporary one was arranged, and it’s gone quite well, at least for him.

The 26-year-old is playing regularly, appearing 15 times so far this season and scoring one goal, but Vallecano have been struggling as they find themselves 19th in La Liga after 16 games.

There has been no indication of an early exit for the Stoke loanee, yet Tuttosport believe Torino, who have been linked a number of times in the past, are considering making a move for him.

They describe him as a Rayo Vallecano player, which he technically is for the season, but there’s no mention of the loan, so we can only guess they assume he’s been sent there permanently and belongs to the Spaniards.

Since that isn’t the case, and we can’t see the Spanish side wanting one of their key players to go midway through a difficult campaign, we’re going to assume this was just regurgitation of previous targets and nothing else.

Unless they plan on paying Vallecano for cancelling the loan early and Stoke a transfer fee, we don’t see it happening.
