Barcelona have an interest in Luka Jovic, reports Mundo Deportivo on Wednesday. It’s not especially strong, they’re not on the verge of making a move, he’s just one of a number of options as the club look for further striker options.

The 20 year old has twelve goals and two assists for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. He moved there in 2017 on a two year loan deal from Benfica, with the Bundesliga club securing a buying clause which they’ll almost certainly be using… even if they then sell the youngster on for a profit.

Mundo Deportivo reports Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are ‘also’ interested in the player, but the Catalan newspaper believes Barcelona would have an advantage over other interested sides.

They have a ‘good relationship’ with the player’s agency Lian Sports, with it being stated they also represent other players Barca have been interested in, such as Miralem Pjanic, Cengiz Under, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marcos Alonso.

What Mundo Deportivo don’t mention is that Liverpool will also have a relationship. Like Barca, they’ve been linked with some of the agency’s players, but unlike Barca they actually own a Lian Sports player.

Marko Grujic, currently on loan at Hertha Berlin has been with the Merseyside club since June 2016, and he’s represented by them. Like Jovic, Grujic came through the system at Red Star Belgrade.

If Liverpool are interested, as is stated, then they’ve got their own agent advantage, and probably better than Barcelona.
