Thursday saw a lot of excitement in the Italian transfer website sphere when Corriere dello Sport published an article about Milan and an alleged interest for Fabinho.
The thing is, no moves have been made, and there aren’t signs any will be in the near future.
Milan are said to be looking at the Brazilian, like most of Europe, as Corriere look at the player’s situation in Liverpool (a severe lack of game time until recently) and speculate he could be of use to the Serie A outfit.
Having lost Lucas Biglia for the next four months, Fabinho would serve as a great short term substitute, on loan, with the Italians, much like they have done with Tiemoué Bakayoko, giving him a chance to get the regular game time he is lacking at Anfield.
For this to happen, Corriere are very clear the Brazilian’s will would be ‘fundamental’ for Milan to get their man, since him pushing for a temporary exit could convince Liverpool to let him go.
As things stand, and with Jürgen Klopp seemingly willing to give the 25-year-old more game time, that appears unlikely, and the Italians are very aware of this.
This is very much a dream scenario of 2 + 2 = 4, which, for the time being, adds up to five.
Corriere are merely looking at both the player’s and Milan’s situations and suggesting they could solve each other’s problems should the stars, planets and moons all perfectly align.
