Javi Gracia recently told the Spanish media he was the bookies favourite to be first Premier League manager sacked this season.
That may a little exaggeration, it certainly wasn’t across the board, but it helps make the story of Watford’s wonderful start to the campaign even better. The club have a reputation of going through managers quickly and seeing a wider picture than whoever is in charge at any one time.
Sometimes it’s appeared controversial and a little trigger happy, but taken in the sole context of how Watford are doing right now… it’s certainly working.
Daryl Janmaat is currently away with the Netherlans national team and the defender, like other Watford players spread out around thw rold right now, was asked about the club and the good start.
AD explained to their readers that Gino Pozzo isn’t a ‘madman’ and knows what he’s doing, before Janmaat added: “Buy young players, resell and earn real money with them. A man who lives off the business of the club. That model works as long as we are in the Premier League. That is where the money is earned.”
