Juventus signed Andrea Favilli from Ascoli for €7.5m in June and loaned him to Genoa earlier this month.
Prior to his loan move, the 21-year-old was a target for Wolverhampton Wanderers and we carried a report from Sky Italia, who claimed the Old Lady were ready to sell their striker for €20m to the newly promoted Premier League club.
Gazzetta dello Sport also backed up Nuno Espírito Santo’s side’s interest in the frontman, whilst there was widespread interest in Italy.
Now, Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has revealed the Championship side’s interest in signing the Italian attacker.
He described the English club’s interest in the player as “concrete” and “very strong”, but the Whites decided against making an approach for Favilli because they opted for an experienced player to lead their attack to improve their chances of being promoted to the Premier League.
Leeds’ specific set of circumstances put the Favilli move on hold, but Radrizzani is keen on the player and given a breakthrough at Juventus isn’t likely in the near future, the youngster remains a possibility for the medium term.
Marcelo Bielsa has fielded Kemar Roofe to lead his side’s attack in the league fixtures, and he’s scored three goals in three appearances.
