It’s hard to keep up with what’s going on regarding Pedro Obiang’s West Ham future, as new Italian clubs keep getting added to the list of suitors.
The first we heard of Serie A interest was when Sky Sports news claimed Fiorentina and Atalanta had both seen bids for the Spaniard rejected.
Then came the news from Italy that a (new?) bid had arrived from Bergamo for the midfielder, this time in the shape of a €1m paid loan with a view to buy later on at €9m.
Fiorentina appeared to fall out of the race, focusing on Mario Pasalic instead, only for Atalanta to overtake them in that deal by offering more to Chelsea.
According to Telegenova, the Genoa based club have been considering one of either Edimilson Fernandes, which we already knew about, as well as their ex-player.
The problem here would be his wages, as €3m/year is far too much for the Italians, who ‘could not guarantee’ to meet his demands.
The West Ham player is said to miss Italy, and especially Genoa, where he left ‘many friends’ and ‘great memories’.
We’re eager to see where this one takes us next. Maybe Lazio will join in in case Milinkovic-Savic leaves? Who knows in the wonderful world that is the transfer rumour mill.
