Tottenham appear to be moving into second or third gear with their summer transfer plans, with reports in France of an interest in Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombélé.

The young midfielder recently saw his loan from Amiens made permanent by the Ligue 1 side after a great first season in the top flight, but there’s a possibility he could already be heading to the Premier League this summer.

Spurs’ interest has been well documented in the French media already, with L’Equipe revealing it earlier this week, while Le10 Sport, a while back, claimed Manchester United were also keen on the 21-year-old.

TF1 are now the latest to provide an update on the youngster’s situation, explaining that, to no one’s surprise, Jean-Michel Aulas isn’t particular open to seeing his new starlet leave so soon.

Furthermore, the French media outlet corroborate L’Equipe’s information of Spurs’ desire to gift Mauricio Pochettino the midfielder, and reveal that Daniel Levy and co. have ‘a large head start’ on the rest of the competition, as well as having ‘great chances of signing Ndombélé’.

That’s certainly a positive sign for Tottenham fans, especially if Mousa Dembélé were to leave for Inter.

Perhaps not a like for like replacement, but he certainly wouldn’t look out of place in Pochettino’s midfield.
