On Monday, claims from the UK stated Liverpool have identified Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme as a target for the next window.

The Reds’ interest in the 18-year-old is backed up in Brazil by Nosso Palestra, who share their own slant.

According to the report, in recent weeks, Liverpool made contact with Palmeiras to find out the conditions needed to sign the attacking midfielder.

It’s further claimed the Merseyside club are considering ‘making advances’ to secure his signature in the summer. They are thinking about the long-term and want to make an investment on the teenager.

Last November, Guilherme renewed his deal until 2026. The report states it has a €55m release clause and Palmeiras hold 80% of his rights.

Journalist Jorge Nicola took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to also claim that Liverpool have approached with the South American club for Guilherme.

He’s provided more information on his YouTube channel and Portal Goleada have relayed his comments. According to Nicola, Palmeiras aren’t willing to negotiate his sale for less than €35m and have made this clear to Liverpool.

“I checked this story with the people at Palmeiras and I can say that there was a consultation from Liverpool, without an initial offer yet. The English [club] wanted to understand the conditions for a possible deal,” he said.

“Palmeiras made it clear that they’ll not negotiate, under any circumstances, for less than €35m fixed.

“Palmeiras would still require some bonuses so that this negotiation comes close to the figures that took Endrick to Real Madrid. Just to remind you, the total operation was at €72m, €12m euros for tax payments, €35m and another €25m in bonuses.”

Nicola makes no mention of whether Liverpool are willing to meet Palmeiras’ request for the young player.

Guilherme has made 32 appearances since making his senior debut for Palmeiras last year.
