Wolverhampton Wanderers are showing ‘concrete’ interest in Ajax winger Carlos Forbs and a deal is seen as a matter of time.
That’s according to Voetbal International, who say Forbs is open to moving to the Premier League before the end of the transfer window.
The newspaper reports that Ajax are yet tor receive a concrete offer from Wolves for the winger, but it is considered a matter of time before one is made.
Forbs has indicated he is willing to make the move back to England and, despite Ajax manager Francesco Farioli indicating he believes he can improve him greatly; Forbs believes he can do better in the Premier League.
Wolves are also offering him a ‘significantly higher salary’ than what would be available to him at Ajax. He also likes the idea of joining a squad full of Portuguese players. An agreement on personal terms is not likely to prove problematic.
The issue is how much Ajax will demand for the player, with it made clear that if he does depart then ‘it should not be for nothing’.
They paid €14m to sign him from Manchester City’s U21’s last summer and it’s easy to imagine the Dutch side will want a sum above that to sanction a move to Wolves.
