Sevilla were dreaming of signing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Pablo Sarabia in the winter market but weren’t successful.

The La Liga side are still keen on the winger and are aiming to make an approach in the summer window.

That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, who explain that they are joined by Celta Vigo in the chase for the Wolves player.

Sarabia has managed a goal and an assist from 818 minutes from 20 games this season. He has been mainly used as a substitute by Vítor Pereira in recent weeks.

This hasn’t stopped the Spain international from attracting interest from ‘several clubs’, including Sevilla and Celta. The 32-year-old has less than four months left on his contract and the report states he will not sign an extension with Wolves.

Sevilla have been chasing the attacker for a while and Celta were heavily linked in January.

Celta manager Claudio Giráldez believes the Wolves man can be a key part of his side’s attack next season.

Sarabia was at Sevilla between 2016 and 2019, and this could give them an advantage to sign him for free. The outlet warns Sevilla and their sporting director, Víctor Orta, that Celta intend to push for his signing.

It’s unclear what will happen to Sarabia’s future but is likely to be away from Wolves.
