West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals will be allowed to join Real Betis after FIFA approved the transfer to take place today.
That’s according to El Chiringuito, who report that FIFA have given their ‘OK’ following the chaos at the London Stadium last night.
West Ham and Betis agreed a deal for the Spaniard yesterday but a computer error at West Ham, which saw an agent’s name left off of the documentation put into FIFA’s systems, mean the deal was not ratified on deadline day.
Reports in Spain indicated that Betis were confident of the deal going through regardless, with La Liga having already provisionally approved it and FIFA meeting in Zurich today to look things over and make a decision.
That left Betis sweating as they want to add Fornals to their Europa Conference League squad but need to do so by 12pm this evening.
Fortunately, it appears things have gone in their favour as El Chiringuito report that Fornals will be playing for Betis as FIFA have given their okay to the transfer and the documentation between West Ham and the Spanish sides.
Thus, the transfer can now be completed and the chaos at West Ham put to bed following their deadline day debacle.
