A couple of days ago, the Italian media launched the idea of Jean-Clair Todibo moving from West Ham United to Juventus in the current transfer window.

The Turin club had tried to sign the defender from Nice during the summer but were quite arrogant with their approach and that allowed West Ham to get ahead of them. Juventus only wanted a loan with an option to buy, rather than an obligation, even if based on conditions.

That meant they weren’t able to agree with the Ligue 1 club and the Hammers came in and got their own deal done.

The Italian claims around Todibo felt like they were fuelled, at least a little, by media drama. It was all called sensational and there was the assumption, which was even presented as such, that the Frenchman must be unhappy at West Ham and regret that he wasn’t able to join Juventus.

Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports the Todibo path has cooled a little for Juventus because the player has a muscle injury.

Over at Corriere della Sera, they claim Juventus manager Thiago Motta has spoken to Todibo. It’s also stated West Ham would be open to a loan with a purchase option, obviously having to discuss their own clause with Nice first.

According to the Italian newspaper, Todibo is set for a meeting with Graham Potter. The injury is again mentioned but it’s stated the defender should be fit in two weeks.
