Last summer, West Ham United let Nayef Aguerd join Real Sociedad on loan after Julen Lopetegui left him out of his core plans.
The centre-back made 35 appearances for the La Liga club and impressed regularly this season.
On April 1st, the West Ham man suffered an injury in his side’s Copa del Rey clash against Real Madrid. Since then, he missed two league games and is doubtful to face Mallorca on Saturday.
El Diario Vasco state La Real manager Imanol Alguacil is having injuries concerns in the defence for the upcoming tie.
This includes the Morocco international, who is doubtful for the weekend clash. The report states the Hammers defender ‘continues to be tormented’ by some ‘discomfort in the patellar tendon’ of his right knee.
Over at AS, they state it’s unclear when the 29-year-old will return from an injury he suffered earlier this month.
As it stands, Aguerd has to return to the Premier League club after this season and his future still needs to be resolved.
Last December, the player said his future isn’t in his hands. West Ham replaced Lopetegui with Graham Potter in January. Earlier claims from Spain stated that Potter could make a decision on Aguerd’s future in the summer.
Injury issues won’t help his price.
