West Ham United defender Arthur Masuaku is just three games away from completing a permanent move to Turkish side Beşiktaş.
That’s according to NTV Spor, who say the full-back’s loan deal with the Super Lig side will be turned into a permanent one if he plays three more league games.
They explain that the West Ham man, who joined Beşiktaş on loan in the summer as a replacement for Ridvan Yilmaz, has made 21 starts in the league thus far after battling back from something of a rocky start at the club.
Coupled with another appearance from the bench against Gaziantep back in December he’s now made 22 appearances in total for them.
That’s put him three games away from activating a mandatory purchase clause in his loan deal, with the agreement in West Ham stating that he will become a Beşiktaş player permanently after 25 games.
That deal will see West Ham pocket €2.2m for the defender and him sign a three-year contract with the Black and Whites as part of the deal.
Of course, Beşiktaş could still avoid doing so by refusing to play the player after his 24th match but that seems unlikely given the role he’s played in the last few months.
Indeed, earlier this month we covered a report stating that Beşiktaş were convinced and happy to take him permanently, although they wanted to negotiate the price down.
That will be taken out of their hands if Masuaku picks up three more appearances, though, so we’re sure West Ham will be keeping a close eye on him in the coming weeks.
