Eintracht Frankfurt manager Adi Hütter blames Nottingham Forest for their failure to sign Arnaud Kalimuendo in the summer window.
That’s according to Bild, who explains why the German club failed and relays the coach’s comments over missing out on the striker.
Disappointing Nottingham Forest spell
The 24-year-old moved to the City Ground from Stade Rennais in August 2025 and didn’t enjoy a good run.
In January, the Premier League side let him join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan with an option to buy. He managed six goals and an assist from 1,421 minutes from 19 matches.
The Bundesliga side’s refusal to make his loan stay permanent saw Arnaud Kalimuendo return to Nottingham Forest. Adi Hütter returned to the club and also wanted to bring him back in the summer window.
However, the move didn’t go through and he’s still at the Premier League side.
Why Nottingham Forest stopped exit
Last week, Sport Witness covered a report from Germany explaining that Oliver Glasner’s decision was key to the Frenchman’s future.
Bild states Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis blocked Arnaud Kalimuendo’s deadline day move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The outlet, who relay Adi Hütter’s comments, say he ‘confirms’ their report of Marinakis stopping his return.
“We tried everything. But it didn’t work because of the other side,” he said.
The German club’s failure to sign the Nottingham Forest player leaves them currently with Jonathan Burkardt and Younes Ebnoutalib as the only recognised strikers. The duo picked up injuries last season.
“We’ll stay the way we are. And I’m happy with that. As long as they’re fit, I want to let the lads up front run. We’re sticking with that for now because it’s worked well in many games,” Hütter explained.
Meanwhile, Kalimuendo played 60 minutes in his side’s EFL Cup defeat to Leeds United and a minute in the Premier League this season.
