There’s new information from Brazil about Flamengo’s internal moves to protect one of their biggest young talents, and it comes amid ongoing interest from the Premier League.

According to journalist Julio Miguel Neto in a fresh report from BolaVip, the Rio de Janeiro side has significantly increased Wallace Yan’s salary, nearly multiplying his wages by ten.

The move is seen as a gesture of both reward and strategic protection, as the attacker gains more prominence within the first team.

Alongside the salary bump, Flamengo also set a new domestic release clause of R$300m (around £48m), aiming to fend off potential approaches from Brazilian rivals.

However, while there had been talks of extending his deal until 2030, both parties chose not to move forward, meaning his current contract still runs until December 2027.

Internally, the decision not to renew is being interpreted as a sign that a move abroad remains on the table, while the European transfer window is still open.

The report also claims that Wolverhampton remain attentive to the 18-year-old’s situation. The Premier League side continues to monitor developments closely, aware of Wallace Yan’s growing value and visibility.

However, the new valuation – particularly after the arrival of Jhon Arias – is unlikely to fit within Wolves’ current budget, making a summer move more complex.

While Flamengo have not disclosed the release clause for foreign clubs, it is expected to be well above the domestic figure. That allows the Brazilian side to maintain leverage in the event of offers from Europe.
