Leeds United have made a new, second bid for Feyenoord star Igor Paixão after seeing their first offer rejected.

That’s according to Feyenoord Transfermarkt, who report that a second Leeds bid has now been placed for the Brazilian.

The same outlet reported on Thursday evening that Leeds had opened the race for Paixão with an opening bid that had beaten the figures Olympique Marseille had previously offered.

The French side had been leading the race for Paixão this summer, but a deal is believed to have fallen apart as they refused to meet Feyenoord’s high demands.

They now report that Feyenoord rejected that initial offer but, undeterred, Leeds have now put a second offer on the table for the Brazilian forward.

Reports elsewhere, particularly from Algemeen Dagblad, had reported that Leeds’ initial offer for Paixão was worth €30m. It seems they’ve now improved upon that, although the details of their bid remain to be seen.

Given reports have indicated that Feyenoord want as much as €40m for their star man, it will be interesting to see if Leeds are willing to go anywhere near that figure. For now, it appears they’re not giving up and negotiations are ongoing either way.
