Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile was at Fluminense’s training ground this Wednesday and shared the visit on his personal Instagram account.
Local outlet NetFlu shared that the 24-year-old posted a photo from the club’s dressing room, specifically highlighting the locker belonging to Thiago Silva – his former teammate at the Blues and a legendary figure at the Brazilian club.
The Frenchman also received two shirts from Fluminense during his visit, one with his own name and the other with Thiago Silva’s printed on the back. Both were shown in his social media posts.
Badiashile was part of Chelsea’s squad at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this year and played in two matches. However, he did not face Fluminense in the semi-final, having suffered an injury shortly after the win against Benfica in the quarter-finals.
The visit seems to have been a friendly gesture during the off-season, with no signs of a potential move involved. Still, it served as a reminder of Thiago Silva’s deep connections with both clubs.
