Manchester United and Juventus have Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez on their agenda for the summer.
That’s according to Argentina’s TNT Sports, who say the 28-year-old’s fine displays for Dean Smith’s side have not gone unnoticed.
The keeper has conceded 42 goals in 35 matches and has kept 14 clean sheets in the process.
It’s claimed United and the Old Lady are the two sides that ‘sound most interested’ in the former Arsenal custodian.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would have to sign a new goalkeeper if David de Gea leaves Old Trafford.
The South American’s exit from the English club ‘will not be easy’ because Villa ‘won’t open the door easily’ for their star’s sale in the summer.
Martínez feels ‘very comfortable’ at Villa Park as he has achieved continuity with his current employer, and this factor would also make his potential exit difficult in the upcoming window.
Aston Villa’s idea is to retain Martínez and further bolster their squad for next season so that they can make it to the top half of the table.
