Amid all the speculation surrounding the future of Antonio Conte at Tottenham, the club continue their scouting of players who could help the Italian manager.

With a new right-back a necessity at the London club, that appears to be the January priority, but there could also be a need for a new midfielder and a new left-back in the future.

That’s what Jeunes Footeux are suggesting, at least, as they explain Tottenham are interested in two Rennes players, with those being Lovro Majer and Adrien Truffert.

While the former makes sense considering the success Luka Modric had at the Premier League club many years ago, and Spurs could hope to emulate that with the 25-year-old, the interest in the latter makes less sense.

That’s because of the deal struck with Udinese in the summer for Destiny Udogie, who appears to be the desired long-term option on the left-hand side of the defence going forward once he returns from his loan.

Add to that the presence of Ivan Perisic in the squad, who should be there next year, and Ryan Sessegnon, who can play there, and that leaves for a crowded left hand side.

It’s said Tottenham are following the Croatian midfielder’s performances ‘with attention’, and are ‘monitoring’ those of Truffert, perhaps for the post Perisic-era to provide competition for Udogie, and had a scout present for their 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain recently.
