Tottenham Hotspur‘s Pape Matar Sarr has ruled out AS Monaco, and Nottingham Forest can be an option late in this window.
Last week, we relayed news of Sarr agreeing a €9m per year deal with Galatasaray. On Thursday, Sport Witness covered a report from Senegal that he agreed on to personal terms with Monaco.
Nottingham Forest have also shown interest in the Tottenham player and now have an easy route to sign him.
Nottingham Forest boost to sign Tottenham man
L’Equipe journalist Flavien Trésarrieu took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an important about the Ligue 1 side.
The midfielder, who had direct contact, informed Monaco of his desire to continue in the Premier League.
That should end the Ligue 1 side’s chances of securing his services despite claims of an agreement with the Tottenham Hotspur man. Trésarrieu made no mention of Nottingham Forest or any other club.
Nottingham Forest making progress
Another journalist, Lassana Camara, took to X, to report that the midfielder is in advanced talks with Nottingham Forest. Everton have also shown interest but are behind their Premier League counterpart in the transfer race.

Oliver Glasner’s side are looking to sign the Senegal international on loan with an option to buy. There’s no mention of a figure.
Tavolieri states the City Ground club are in advanced negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur and are making progress.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest, who are keen on signing the 23-year-old, are also working on convincing him. His desire to continue in England indicates he may be open to joining the Reds.
Last season, he played 1,389 minutes from 26 Premier League matches. Roberto De Zerbi hasn’t handed minutes to Sarr this season.
The coach is unlikely to utilise the Senegalese regularly, after Spurs signed Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali this summer. Therefore, Sarr may have to leave Tottenham, either on loan or a permanent transfer, before next Tuesday’s deadline.
