Ever since it was revealed that Harry Kane wanted to leave Tottenham in the summer and Manchester City were lurking, rumours about a Spurs interest in Dusan Vlahovic started to circulate.

The Serbian was the star of the show at Fiorentina last year (he still is to this date), and attracted a lot of attention due to his skillset, with Pep Guardiola’s side even getting involved at one stage when they realised they wouldn’t be able to get the England international out of London.

No deal was struck in the summer, however, and since then a lot has happened, namely the decision from Vlahovic to not renew in Florence and seek out a move sooner rather than later.

With a contract expiring in 2023, the belief is he could be sold as early as January, which is where Tottenham, now managed by Antonio Conte, come into the fold.

Tuttosport have an article on the matter on Wednesday, explaining that Vlahovic ‘cannot fail to welcome the pressing from Fabio Paratici’ and their new manager at Spurs, whose ‘expression of interest’ is described as ‘explicit’ alongside that of Juventus, with Arsenal ‘in the background’.

That’s when the newspaper weigh up the player’s options, stating that ‘if only money counts’, then ‘there is the risk of there being no game with Tottenham’, seen as the ‘favourites’ over the Serie A side in that regard.

However, ‘if the technical project counts, another film can be made’.

The warning here, though, is that ‘Harry Kane’s shadow is still prominent’ at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but that could easily change if his desire to leave doesn’t change between now and the summer.
