Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye picked up an injury in Senegal’s 4-0 win over Malawi last week.

The attacking midfielder, who assisted Pape Gueye’s opener, was forced off the pitch in the 65th minute due to injury.

On Tuesday, the Lions of Teranga will again take on Malawi in AFCON qualifiers. ‘There is concern’ over the Everton player’s involvement for this clash.

That’s according to Wiw Sport, who say the 24-year-old hurt his ankle on Friday. Ndiaye didn’t take part during Saturday’s training and also missed yesterday’s session at the Bingu National Stadium.

The Senegal international has ‘not recovered from an ankle problem’. It’s further claimed he was at the hotel, under the observation of the national team’s medical staff. If he were to recover on time, the report states Ndiaye is unlikely to start tomorrow.

Senegal interim manager Pape Thiaw should provide an update over his situation in the pre-match press conference.

Ndiaye joined the Toffees from Marseille in the summer window. He has scored two goals from nine games for Sean Dyche’s side.

There should be clarity in the next few days, over Ndiaye’s availability for the league clash against Ipswich Town later this weekend.
