Fulham’s Raúl Jiménez has a contract expiring in June, with an option for another year.

On April 25th, we covered claims from Mexico which stated the striker welcomes Fulham wanting to exercise the one-year option. The London club haven’t activated that option so far.

Earlier this month, the Mexico international said he wants to continue with Marco Silva’s side beyond this season. Jiménez also admitted he’s unsure of the Premier League club’s plan for him.

The uncertainty around Fulham’s plan for the 34-year-old has already seen him get linked to a few clubs. He was a guest on TUDN‘s Faitelson sin censura where he revealed transfer approaches from clubs from Mexico, MLS and Saudi Arabia.

Jiménez graduated from Club América and spent three years with their first team before arriving in Europe in 2014. The Fulham player hasn’t mentioned the details of the clubs that contacted him but has made it clear to them of his desire is to continue in Europe.

“There have been talks with several teams in Mexico, MLS, and also in Saudi Arabia. I’ve been in contact with certain teams, but in the end, what I’ve told them is my contract ends in the summer, but what I’m looking for is to stay in Europe,” he said.

“I’m not thinking about returning to Mexico, MLS, or Saudi Arabia right now. It’s something that could happen, but right now it’s not my main plan.

“As long as I’m at the highest level, it’s better for me, so I can continue helping the teams and the Mexican national team.”

The former Benfica man scored 12 goals and registered three assists from 40 games this season. The frontman hailed the Premier League, which could be taken as a hint that he wants to continue to Fulham.

“I think the most difficult thing is every game. There’s no game here where you say, ‘It’s going to be easy. We’ll relax this weekend because it’s easy.’ We’ve experienced it here,” Jiménez explained.

“We can play against the team in first place and beat Liverpool 3-2 this season and then face one of the last places and lose the game.

“It’s a very demanding, very competitive league, and it always demands the best from you. I’m capable of doing it and becoming that player. Now I’m at a more mature age, which helps me understand things better and enjoy football more.”
