Another day, another update from France regarding the future of Serge Aurier.
The Ivory Coast international appears to be on his way out from Tottenham, with numerous reports, all from different sources, claiming Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs trying to get him.
A move to the French capital would see the player return to his former club, where he would also team up with an ex-manager of his in Mauricio Pochettino.
Whether the Argentine actually wants him is up for debate, according to some, but the general feeling is that Leonardo, the club’s technical director, is already in contact regarding a potential €10m+ move.
Foot Mercato back this up today, claiming talks between Aurier and Paris Saint-Germain are ‘accelerating’, or at least between the player’s entourage and the French club.
It’s revealed that the ‘outline of a four-year contract with a wage worth €7m/year’ have been put in place, with Tottenham asking for a price believed to be around ‘a bit less than €12m’.
Daniel Levy has yet to receive an actual offer to this day, but ‘talks between the two clubs have taken off’.
Unlike a previous report, Foot Mercato reckon Pochettino is ‘favourable’ to Aurier returning, having talked to some of his former Tottenham players ever since his return to PSG.
There’s still plenty of time for things to take place, but it appears to be advantage Ligue 1 for now.
