Besiktas are interested in signing former Stoke City player Bruno Martins Indi, according to claims in the Turkish media. The Dutchman has been linked with a return to Stoke City this summer, but the Potters have been unable to agree terms with Porto.

Fotospor say Porto have offered Besiktas a chance to sign Martins Indi before the end of the window. Besiktas are in the market for a central defender, and they’ve also been linked with a move for Domagoj Vida.

Martins Indi has been linked with a return Stoke City almost since his loan ended. The Netherlands international was a regular under Stoke City boss Mark Hughes last season, playing 35 times for the club.

Towards the end of July we covered reports from Portugal that Porto were still hoping they could sell Martins Indi to Stoke City. Earlier in July, Sky Sports reported that Martins Indi was set for a Stoke City medical, but those claims were incorrect.

Martins Indi has just 12 months left on his contract with the Portuguese club, and they could be under pressure to offload him before the deadline.

So far, Stoke haven’t managed to tip the balance in their favour, although things may have been on hold this week, with Martins Indi suffering from a virus.
