Napoli’s pursuit of Brighton’s Billy Gilmour continues to drag on and no agreement has been reached between the two clubs – yet.
The Italian media has been confident that the move will go through but after the rejection of the first bid, the second offer is yet to be made after differing claims regarding how much Brighton want.
The most obvious sign that Gilmour might well leave Brighton has now apparently arrived.
Corriere dello Sport have highlighted that the Scotsman’s situation has been ‘causing a stir’ in East Sussex.
That is because even though the midfielder has been part of Brighton’s squad for their pre-season tour in Japan, he hasn’t played even a single game.
The report states that Gilmour is training but he isn’t featuring at all, which is ‘indicative’ of the fact that he will probably depart this summer.
We have already looked at a claim from La Gazzetta dello Sport which said that Gilmour has asked to leave the Seagulls already, which would point to why he isn’t playing for the club.
Having said that, an agreement between the two clubs is yet to be reached and all this Italian bravado is just that until Napoli can offer a reasonable amount.
