Manchester United’s Antony impressed for Real Betis while on loan in the second half of last season and they want to bring him back this summer.

The La Liga club made their desire public but haven’t made progress in their negotiations with the Red Devils.

Real Betis’ plan is to sign Antony on loan with a purchase option or a shared ownership as they can’t meet the fee requested by Manchester United.

Wednesday’s ABC Sevilla again insist on the Spanish club’s stance and adds that Antony wants to join them over moves to either Saudi or Brazil. Real Betis are waiting to find out if they can bring him back, probably towards the end of the window.

Antony’s agent has recently said he could consider a move to the Middle East. However, Estadio Deportivo now report the 25-year-old wants to return to Real Betis and has been rejecting other options that were on the table so far.

It’s claimed the Brazil international has already rejected two offers. Atlético Madrid have been linked, but they are far from meeting Manchester United’s demand.

The Manchester United man isn’t keen on joining Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, who recently already expressed interest. Antony is also not interested in moving to Turkey or Russia and remains firm with his desire to return to Real Betis.

Whether this is an attempt from Manuel Pellegrini’s side to use their local media to put pressure on Manchester United, or if this is actually Antony’s stance, remains to be seen.
