Timothy Weah’s situation at Juventus has been an important topic of discussion in the Italian and French press this week.

The winger was edging closer to a move to Nottingham Forest some weeks ago until his agent made it clear that his client wouldn’t simply go to whiever club Juventus chose for him. A move to Marseille has looked close for over a week but the differences between the two clubs has brought a transfer to a standstill.

Weah’s agent then made it clear in a statement that at least one director at Juventus is holding back the US international’s exit due to financial reasons, as he also took aim at the Old Lady for not respecting the player enough and for trying to force him into a Premier League move.

Sky Italia, as relayed by SpazioJ, claimed this week that Tottenham and Chelsea have come forward for Weah. It was even stated both London club had been rejected by the player.

A source close to the player’s situation has informed Sport Witness that this is not true and neither club has even made contact for the winger.

This is perhaps another attempt to push the idea of a move to England, as Premier League clubs can fetch Juventus a higher fee than Marseille.

The 25-year-old is keen on a move to the French side right now, with his agent having made that clear in the past few days.
