Newcastle United are edging closer to completing a deal for AC Milan star Sandro Tonali and will continue searching the Italian market to bolster their squad in this window.
On Friday, Sky Italia reported the Magpies have initiated contact to sign Milan defender Theo Hernandez and Juventus’ Federico Chiesa. Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka is also another target from Serie A.
That’s at least according to Calciomercato.it, who state Newcastle are looking at the 28-year-old.
It’s claimed Saudi Arabian sides, Al Nassr and Al-Hilal, have both asked for information but haven’t made an offer so far for the Serie A winning midfielder.
His deal lasts until 2027, with the option of another year. The report says the Naples club will need ‘at least €60m’ to sanction the Slovakia international’s sale this summer.
Al Nassr and Al-Hilal are both owned by the Public Investment Fund, who also own the Premier League side. It’s stated the PIF’s ‘idea’ is to sign Lobotka and let him continue in Europe for at least a year, ‘more precisely at Newcastle’.
This indicates Eddie Howe’s side would take Lobotka on loan, if he were to agree to join Al Nassr or Al-Hilal.
