Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto is ‘waiting for’ Everton to make a new offer for him and convince the Whites into a deal.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who cover the player today and insist the situation around him is ‘yet to be resolved’.
Gnonto has been heavily linked with a move away from Leeds this summer as part of the major exodus from Elland Road following relegation last season.
Everton are particularly keen on him as they desperately try to strengthen their forward line and have been trying to persuade Leeds into the transfer for weeks.
That is a task they have been unsuccessful in, with Leeds publicly insisting that the forward will not be sold despite him pushing to leave and currently training alone.
Corriere report that despite Leeds’ stance, Gnonto’s hasn’t changed either and he ‘wants to leave’ the Championship side this summer.
In fact, he is keen on the move to Goodison Park and is ‘waiting for Everton’ to make a new higher offer than the €29m they have already seen refused by Leeds.
Whether they are willing to do so or offer enough to finally convince Leeds to change their stance, remains to be seen.
