Leeds United’s Diego Llorente has been on loan at AS Roma since January 2023, and it’s not yet clear where his future will be.
On Wednesday, Il Tempo reported that the defender is eager to return to the Serie A side in the summer window.
A fresh report from Il Tempo, relayed by Forza Roma, backs it up, and they then provide more updates on the Leeds player’s future.
It’s claimed the 30-year-old is ‘pushing’ to join Roma, and he’s also ‘putting pressure’ on his entourage to get this deal over the line.
The Whites failed to secure promotion back to the Premier League. The report says the Giallorossi, led by their new sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, could take advantage of this to try to secure a reasonable deal for the Spaniard.
Roma could consider signing him on a new loan deal, but this isn’t favoured by the Leeds man. He wants a permanent transfer, after being out on loan for the last 18 months.
The report states that ‘talks are ongoing between the parties’, likely between Roma and Leeds, to close Llorente’s permanent transfer for a fee between €4m and €5m.
