Over the past few days, we have seen a renewed increase in the number of articles suggesting that Torino are making renewed attempts to sign Dennis Praet from Leicester City.
The Belgian was loaned to the Serie A side last season, with the deal including a €15m option to buy, but that was never triggered, as they had some doubt about the player’s long-term fitness following a series of injuries during the season.
Recent reports have claimed that Leicester would accept a fee of €8.5m in January this time around, with that figure potentially being negotiated down a bit more.
Either way, talks appear to be well on their way, to the point where Calciomercato bring a quick update on the matter, adding ‘there is optimism regarding the final outcome’.
It’s then added that while they are initially working on a potential loan with an obligation to buy, they are also ‘open to the possibility’ of buying him outright in the next transfer window.
There is no fee mentioned, but considering Praet is barely used by Brendan Rodgers these days, there’s only so much they can ask for at this point.
