AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah is not a priority objective at this stage of the transfer window for Nottingham Forest, despite there being reported contact over a move.

Musah made 40 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions last season, but didn’t have a huge impact. Milan News quote Matteo Moretto explaining Nottingham Forest don’t see the 22-year-old as a major target right now, even if he is under a certain level of consideration.

The Italian journalist says there are two other midfielders Nottingham Forest are looking at ahead of Musah.

The US international is being presented as an alternative option for Nottingham Forest so at this stage they’re not entering serious negotiations with AC Milan.

Moretto is quoted as saying: “For Nottingham Forest, Yunus Musah is not a priority objective at the moment. It is true that there have been contacts, it is true that he has been proposed, but as far as Nottingham’s shortlist to strengthen the midfield is concerned, the American is not among the top positions. There are two other profiles that they will try to sink their teeth into, then we will see if the English will eventually have to veer towards Musah. At the moment, however, it is not a hot negotiation.”

Musah’s contract at AC Milan expires in June 2028, but the player’s future at the San Siro is under serious doubt.
