Brighton & Hove Albion are keen on signing PSV Eindhoven’s Olivier Boscagli this summer.

The Seagulls have made a €10m offer, but claims from the Dutch press stated that PSV want them to table a bigger bid.

Eindhovens Dagblad say the defender is pushing to join Brighton before the window closes next Friday.

The 26-year-old has less than a year left on his deal and has refused to sign an extension. He feels that his time at PSV has come to an end and has communicated the same to the clubs’ leaders.

Boscagli ‘absolutely wants to go to Brighton’ as he feels a move to the Premier League would be a step up in his career. It’s a question of when he’ll move to England as there’s ‘no way back’ for him at PSV.

According to the claims, the centre-back believes the Eredivisie side should accept the Seagulls’ €10m bid.

PSV are waiting to bring in a replacement before they sanction a move, while they also want Fabian Hürzeler’s side to improve their offer.

If Brighton won’t make an improved bid, PSV would risk losing the player for nothing next summer. To avoid this scenario, it would be in their interest to find a compromise over the transfer fee.
