Flamengo want a ‘high proposal’ from Wolverhampton Wanderers for midfielder Evertton Araújo and will only sell the 22-year-old once they’re done with the Club World Cup in the summer.
That’s according to Bolavip Brasil, who have followed on information from Léo José from the Coluna do Fla portal and explained how Wolves can get a deal done.
A report towards the end of April explained that Wolves were probing a possible deal for Araújo, who is believed to be a direct request from manager Vitor Pereira.
Bolavip now report that the midfielder is a ‘major target’ for Wolves, but Flamengo want certain conditions to be met before they’ll sanction anything.
The first of those is that they want any deal to be completed after they compete in the Club World Cup this summer. The Brazilian side don’t want to lose any players until the tournament is done.
Another important factor will be the financial side of things. The board have not yet speculated on an acceptable amount but wants a ‘high proposal’ for any deal to be done. The aforementioned €40m would certainly fall into that.
Wolves have been monitoring Araújo for some time, particularly with João Gomes continuing to be linked with a move away. He has inquiries from Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Athletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and others and it seems they are preparing in case they do lose him.
That’s put their eyes on Araújo, who it seems Flamengo are happy to negotiate over, if their terms are met by Wolves.
