Last Friday, we covered claims from the Dutch press that PSV Eindhoven’s Olivier Boscagli absolutely wants to join Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
This report surfaced two days after Voetbal International reported that PSV have rejected the Seagulls offer for the defender. It was also said the Dutch club want to renew his deal.
The 26-year-old has less than a year left on his deal and is keen to leave the Eredivisie side for Brighton.
Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink says PSV have no desire to let him leave in this window. He adds there could be a new summit on Monday, to sort out the centre-back’s future.
Elfrink states Fabian Hürzeler’s side have to make a ‘spectacularly improved offer’ to convince PSV. He makes no mention of the fee that the Premier League side need to please the Dutch club.
Voetbal International claim PSV’s Joey Veerman has already held talks with the defender over the possibility of leaving the club for Brighton.
The 25-year-old midfielder has urged his teammate to snub the Seagulls, in order to play in the Champions League and compete for silverware at PSV.
“He wants to get that transfer, maybe that’s logical, but I wouldn’t do it myself. Nothing against Brighton, but they are not going to play for prizes. Here we do, you play the Champions League, and he still has one year left on his contract. I would think about it carefully if I were him,” he said, relayed by VI.
